Next-Gen Apple TV 4K Leaks Ahead of Launch With A19 Chip

Apple is preparing to end a four-year hardware freeze for its living room streaming box. Comprehensive supply chain disclosures and backend asset leaks from Bloomberg and MacRumors indicate a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K will arrive during Apple’s upcoming “Welcome home” media launch in New York. The hardware refresh focuses on massive silicon leaps, local ambient intelligence, and overhauled wireless infrastructure.

Internal software assets discovered by developer Aaron Perris confirm the device preserves the matte black puck aesthetic of the 2022 edition. However, internal hardware changes represent the biggest operational transformation the platform has seen in years.

A19 Silicon and Expanded Memory for Siri AI

[Supply Chain / Tipster Leak] According to reporting from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new Apple TV 4K swaps out the aging A15 Bionic processor in favor of standard A19 silicon. The computational upgrade accompanies a substantial memory increase, lifting system RAM from 4GB up to between 8GB and 12GB.

The silicon leap is not designed merely for rendering 4K video feeds. The added memory bandwidth and neural processing units provide the required hardware foundation for local Apple Intelligence and advanced Siri voice processing. tvOS code references already indicate the set-top box will process natural language queries natively, matching voice capabilities deployed across recent iPhones and iPads.

Hands-Free Chassis Microphones and Updated Siri Remote

[Confirmed via Code / Regulatory Analysis] Hardware schematics and code references highlight the inclusion of far-field microphone arrays embedded directly into the Apple TV set-top box. Users will no longer have to lift the Siri Remote or speak into an external HomePod to issue voice commands, operate playback, or adjust smart home accessories. The streaming box acts as an always-listening ambient hub.

[Supply Chain / Tipster Leak] The accompanying Siri Remote is also receiving its first substantial functional update since transitioning to USB-C. Firmware findings reveal the remote integrates a dedicated miniature speaker. The acoustic addition enables direct integration with Apple’s Find My network, allowing users to trigger audible location pings from an iPhone whenever the remote slips between couch cushions.

N1 Wireless Networking Architecture

[Supply Chain / Tipster Leak] The next-generation hardware introduces Apple’s in-house N1 wireless networking chip, replacing standard third-party connectivity components. This brings dual upgrades:

  • Wi-Fi 7 Connectivity: Delivers multi-gigabit throughput and lower latency when tethered to compatible Wi-Fi 7 home networks, improving local AirPlay streaming and high-bitrate media playback.
  • Bluetooth 6.0: Upgrades the wireless peripheral link from the outdated Bluetooth 5.0 standard on the 2022 model, improving audio latency with AirPods and extending remote operational range.
  • Thread Border Router: Maintains foundational Matter protocol integration to command connected smart home gear directly.

Expected Pricing and Retail Rollout

[Speculative Analysis] Prior to this refresh, Apple adjusted the entry price of the outgoing model to ₹16,900 (~$199) in the United States and global markets due to component cost shifts. Retail projections indicate the new A19-powered hardware will hold that price point, starting at approximately ₹16,990 (~$199) for the Wi-Fi variant and climbing to roughly ₹19,900 (~$249) for the expanded storage and Gigabit Ethernet configuration.

Pre-orders are projected to open immediately following the official press briefing, with global retail store availability and commercial shipping scheduled for October 30. The set-top box will debut alongside the HomePod mini 2 and Apple’s new HomeView smart home command center.
