Asus ProArt RTX Spark Laptops and Mini PC Debut with 128GB Memory

ASUS arrived at IFA 2026 in Berlin staking a claim as the primary launch partner for NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform. Unveiled at a dedicated media showroom on September 2, the lineup includes the ProArt P16 and P14 laptops alongside the ultra-compact ProArt GR1X mini PC. These machines mark a fundamental hardware shift by adopting NVIDIA’s ARM-based superchip, which pairs an Arm CPU and a Blackwell GPU on a single package. ASUS is marketing the hardware around a massive 128GB unified memory pool designed to run heavy local AI tools without cloud subscriptions or token limits.

The 128GB Unified Memory Advantage and the CUDA Question

Previous-generation creator laptops topped out at discrete GPUs like the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU with 24GB of GDDR7 VRAM. That creates a hard bottleneck for local generative AI work because a quantized 70-billion-parameter language model requires roughly 41GB of memory just to load into memory. RTX Spark eliminates that ceiling by pairing a 20-core ARM CPU die with a Blackwell GPU die featuring 6,144 CUDA cores and fifth-generation Tensor Cores with FP4 precision. Both dies sit on a single TSMC 3nm package linked via NVLink-C2C and share up to 128GB of LPDDR5X memory.

However, an unresolved software hurdle casts a shadow over the hardware launch. Pre-production RTX Spark hardware tested independently in July 2026 failed to complete CUDA-based AI workloads on multiple pre-release driver versions. Measuring 150 × 150 × 51mm, it packs the full RTX Spark superchip into a desktop footprint designed for 24/7 agentic AI operation. ASUS engineered a dual-fan cooling system featuring 218 fan blades and seven-level fan control to manage sustained thermal loads. With 10GbE networking, Wi-Fi 7, and simultaneous output to four 4K displays, it targets creators who want a dedicated local compute node for running background AI agents and continuous 3D rendering tasks.

Pricing Realities and Global Rollout Expectations

NVIDIA confirmed at SIGGRAPH 2026 that ASUS and MSI lead the first wave of RTX Spark hardware, positioning ASUS to reach retail shelves ahead of competing x86 and alternative ARM manufacturers. While ASUS has not announced official pricing or specific availability dates, Morgan Stanley financial analysts estimating flagship N1X configurations have pointed to price points hovering around $2,899 USD (approx. ₹2,45,000 INR excluding local import taxes and duties).
